This is my first dress ever made and is my first major sewing project. I am still new to the cosplay world, so this was a major challenge. I wore this to Megacon 2012. Megacon was such a big and awesome con. I would definitely love to go back next year. Overall, this costume took me like a year, since I was taking 18 credits last semester. I am actually surprised that it turned out well with the lack of time.

I used wedding bridal satin, but I used the reverse non shiny side to give it that matte-ish look. I didn't have a pattern or anything, so I had to improvise, putting different shapes together to make the layers. There are about 7 layers. I wanted to have more layers and make it longer, bigger and poofier, but I'm glad I didn't because I was barely able to walk in the hallways. The gold trim on the dress and veil is white cotton bolo cord, and it was all hand painted gold. All 736 yards were glued onto the costume. The designs aren't accurate, because it would cost too much to just glue on one panel. So I simplified it a bit to lessen the amount of cords used. I used styrene plastic for the ear pieces and a very smooth bridal veil material. I wore two full hoops and I made suspenders to keep them up. I also put extra thick wiring in each hoop layer to give it extra support. Thank goodness for it.

I am a big fan of CLAMP productions. I love their creative character designs and beautiful art pieces. I am very proud of this costume. I hope to do more pretty costumes like this in the future.
